6 steps to prevent Coronavirus (COVID-19)

See our tips below to keep you aware of how to prevent yourself from getting the coronavirus (COVID-19) or any other diseases or illnesses. You can utilize these tips in your daily routine to help flatten the curve!

1. Practice respiratory hygiene - wear certified facemasks
Make sure you practice good respiratory hygiene. Try to wear certified face masks such as the N95 Respirator Mask, KN95 Respirator Mask and Disposable Surgical Mask.

If you don’t have a face mask available, this means covering your mouth and nose with your elbow or a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Dispose of the used tissue immediately.

2. Wash your hands frequently
Regularly washing your hands with soap and water or using alcohol-based hand rub kills viruses that may be on your hands. Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds.

Practice routine cleaning and disinfect objects and surfaces. Make sure to wash high touch surfaces; these surfaces include: tables, doorknobs, light switches, counter tops, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets, sinks, etc.

4. Maintain Social Distancing
Maintain at least 3 feet (1 meter) of distance between yourself and anyone… Especially if they are sneezing or coughing.

When someone sneezes or coughs near you, they spray small liquid droplets from their nose or mouth which can contain the coronavirus or any other viruses. If you are too close, you can inhale these droplets including the coronavirus if this person has the disease.

5. Avoid touching nose, eyes and mouth
Try to avoid touching your nose, eyes and mouth. Our hands touch many surfaces which may be contaminated by viruses. Our hands can transfer the virus to our nose, eyes or mouth. From there the virus can enter your body and make you sick.

6. Stay home and get rest when you are sick
Remember to stay at home if you begin to feel unwell. This includes even mild symptoms such as a headache and slight runny nose until you recover. Try to avoid contact with others and visits to a medical facility will protect you and others from possible coronaviruses and infection.
